Oh Mr. Sun

It is impossible to not be extremely happy when you wake up to weather like this. First of all, I slept 10 full hours last night which I never do. I arose feeling so well rested and ready for the day. On top of that, the sun was streaming through my window and when I walked outside to go to class, I was hit with the lovely sensation of vitamin D. Ahhhh, vitamin D. Us Floridians honestly cannot live without it. A few days will go by on this campus without sun and BEHOLD- everyone becomes cranky, rude, and sulky. Ask anyone who was born and raised in Florida or California, the sun is part of who we are. So what better than to base today’s blog on than Mr. Sunshine himself?

Instead of studying, typing and reading in the library today, take some time to go outside to soak up some UV rays. It truly does boost your mood and increase your endorphins. Don’t believe me? Check out these facts from natural-health-restored.com

  • “One of the major benefits of sunlight is that it will soothe your nerves and boost your mood leaving you with a renewed sense of well-being. Sunlight increases the production of endorphins and serotonin in your brain which will definitely leave you feeling much better.
  • Getting enough sunlight during the day can help you sleep better at night. If you are exposed to natural light during the day, it will increase your melatonin output at night. Melatonin is a natural hormone made by our bodies. It enhances sleep and slows down the aging process.”

THAT BEING SAID, GO OUTSIDE LADIES AND GENTS.

Put those adorable shades on and STAY glamourous. πŸ™‚
